What Is Good About Naruto (-ナルト-)

Character Development

Part II was being released when I was at secondary so I do hold this title in a pretty high regard. Nostalgia does play a role in that, but I believe that this series DESERVES praise.

I really love Kishimoto’s writing, he’s able to make you care about his characters – be it main or minor – which I think is a truly awesome skill to have. Even some of the villains have sympathetic motives such as Nagato, Konan and Itachi, something I really enjoyed reading each week.

What Is Bad About Naruto (-ナルト-)

Talk no Jutsu

Just look at Part II and you’ll see what I mean…

Character… Motive?

Sasuke. You need to work out what the hell you WANT.

First off, he wants to seek vengeance on the killer of his entire clan. Okay fine.

Then Part II happens, we find out MORE about the Uchiha Clan and Sasuke decides that he wants to destroy his HOME VILLAGE now. Now, this is not Sasuke-hate at all, before the end of Part I, I actually really liked Sasuke’s character but he became more and more shallow as the series progressed.

Naruto and Sakura, focus more on your other friends in Konoha. He’s not worth your tears, seriously.

Overall Conclusion

Despite its flaws, Naruto is an action-packed adventure that gives you a feel for being out in the wilderness. If you’ve yet to check it out, perhaps this series is the next one you could pick up.
